Tequila, Jalisco; Magic Town in the Mexican Republic

By

The town of Tequila, located in the state of Jalisco, is known for its extensive land cultivated with Blue Agave, and believe me when I say that there’s nothing more beautiful than the color of the land filled with nothing but blue agave. And that delicious flavor of the nectar that emerges from the agave after the distillation process is equally beautiful.

The name tequila comes from the Nahuatl, meaning: the place where it is cut and worked.
In Tequila, Jalisco there are many activities and places to know, such as the Tequila Museum where you’ll get to know the history of this extraordinary pueblo, as well as the history of tequila from pre-Hispanic times.

Another place we recommend visiting is the Plaza Principal, where you’ll find several stores where you can buy barrels of all sizes and tequila bottles for all tastes and pockets.
If you’re looking for some adventure and you like to walk on narrow trails, then you should visit La Cascada de Los Azules, a place you’ll be able to reach as long as you hire a local guide or local inhabitant, given that it is a bit complicated to get there.
In the XIX century, president Porfirio Diaz inaugurated the railroad route that runs from Amatitlan, Tequila, and nearby towns. Today, that route is called Jose Cuervo Express, which is a train tour you just cannot miss. This train departs from Guadalajara and it’s bound for Tequila, Jalisco. Some other places you can visit and get to know in this town are La Riojeña factory by Jose Cuervo, Casa Sauza, the chapel of Apostle Santiago (James) built in 1649, the Purisima Temple built in the XVII century, and the Food Market Cleofas Mota.
Travel and get to see Tequila, Jalisco on a tour through magic towns that you can’t miss.
